A brilliant few days on our Mountaineering Course at Caroline Hut. ❄️🏔️
We scored a great run of weather and made the most of every minute. Lots of time on crampons, building confidence with essential alpine movement skills, and packing in plenty of practical learning along the way — avalanche awareness and rescue skills, knots, belaying, abseiling and glacier travel.
And there was plenty of terrain to put it all into practice: a day trip up Kaitiaki Peak, across Ball Pass and a loop over the Ball Glacier.
A busy few days, a lot learnt, and some pretty spectacular alpine terrain along the way.
