Spring skiing can be a mixed bag! Windy one moment, spring corn the next… then a cold southerly rolls through and drops 10–15cm of fresh powder. ❄️
Yesterday’s Dumbbell Lake tour in the Ōhau backcountry delivered the goods. Fresh tracks, a snowy playground shared with just one other group of happy split-boarders, and stoke levels running high all day.
We were also pleasantly surprised by how good the coverage was, especially given how thin things were just a few weeks ago. And pleased to report: no shark attacks! 🦈⛷️
Fresh powder in September? We’ll take it! 🙌
