What a start to the alpine climbing season! Six magical days up high with Christoff from Germany, soaking up a dream weather window and kicking things off in style.

We sharpened the tools with some skills days on ANZAC Peaks and Glacier Dome, then set our sights on the big one. Aoraki put up a real fight — bullet-hard ice turned us around just shy of the summit — but a spectacular sunrise spilling over Mount Tasman made every swing and step worth it.

After a well-earned rest day at Plateau Hut (plus plenty of yarns with great crew), we snuck in a final mission: an ascent of Dixon Peak to wrap up the trip before catching the heli down.

Alpine climbing at its best — long days, firm conditions, the best weather window in months, big grins. Top time in the mountains! 🏔️✨
