Fresh snow, full packs, and a proper alpine welcome at Caroline Hut ❄️⛏️
Our New Year’s mountaineering course kicked off in true mid-winter style — we had to dig out the hut door on arrival! A week immersed in mountaineering skills, glacier travel, snow and ice techniques, and real-world decision making in the Aoraki / Mount Cook alpine environment.
New Year’s Eve was celebrated the right way: nacho dinner, good company, and fresh snow outside the door 🌌🏔️
